Who We Fund

The road to defeating Trump runs through battleground states where AANHPI voters can be the margin of victory for Biden/Harris

According to 270toWin President Biden can count on 226 electoral votes whereas Trump has 235 electoral votes.  To defeat Trump, Biden needs 44 more electoral votes to reach 270. President Biden needs to win the following states to cover several possible win/lose scenarios: AZ, GA, MI, NV, NC, PA, and WI. Biden won by very small margins in AZ (0.3%), GA (O.25%), MI (2.8%), NV (2.4%), PA (1.17%), and WI (0.6%). Biden lost to Trump in NC by 1.5% of the vote. In 2024, AANHPI voters can be the margin of victory in these states.

AA4D has identified the following 501c4 groups to fund in these swing states. These local AANHPI organizations work year-round to build trust in their communities.

Our two-pronged strategy

We have two strategies, movement and message, to engage AANHPI voters across swing states. AA4D and CAPA21’s joint effort to boost APA voter turnout breaks new ground by increasing the number of individual donors to support APA 501c4 organizations.

Movement Strategy: Direct Voter Contact

Voter contact programs (door knocking, phone/text banks) amplify the defeat Trump/re-elect Biden message. AANHPI voters have historically voted for Democrats by 60%.

Message Strategy: Multilingual Ads

We will create anti-Trump digital ads that can be shared widely through ethnic media and social media platforms in English and several Asian languages. Messaging motivates people to register and vote. Our ads will be distributed for free to state-based AANHPI voter mobilization groups. Our digital media team will also provide free consultation to the state-based organizations to build communications capacity and enable them to generate local ads.
